Description
Quilt was pieced about 1865; there are over 4,000 1" squares handsewn together. The Quilt has a wool batten interior. The backing may have been replaced at one time because the tying does not go through the current backing. The quilt was made by Anna Ford about 1865. It was passed down from Anna Ford-- to---Eliza Jones--to--Edgar Romaine Jones---to---Pearl Hesche---to---Raymond Hesche Jr. --to--Keith Hesche.
Refer to cabinet card photo of quilter Anna Ford--2025.001.0003. Anna Ford lived from 1807 to 1901 and attended the Christian Church of Alton. Her husband was Abel Ford.
