Description
"A Little History of My Forest Life" an Indian-white autobiography by Eliza Morrison written in 1894 and 1895. . Discovered in the Minnesota Historical Society Archives. Her husband John Morrison and Wiliam Gray Purcell saved her manuscripts and collected photos to illustrate it. Victoria Brehm of Tustin Michigan has continued Purcell's work and printed this book in 2002. The story takes place along Lake Superior's Apostle Islands and Bayfield Township, near Ashland, Wisconsin. The Chippewa-Ojibway heritage is portrayed in the book as well as her Scottish and French heritage.
