Description
This wood cutter made in the late 1800's in Lowell Michigan. It was repainted in the 1950's the approximate original colors of red and black. It has a small metal name plate on the back of the seat that reads, "Michigan Cutter Co., Lowell, Mich." the thills are off center (this reportedly is to prevent the horse from kicking up snow or dirt in rider's face. Originally the sides were covered with oil cloth (filled with wood shavings). Under the seat had an oil cloth drape. There is a whip holder that sits in a bracket on the side of the cutter.
